1. Shure E500PTH Vs Shure E3c

Not much difference in size but what's the difference in the sound?
Shure started out making in-ear headphones for musicians on stage; blocking out the audience sound and letting the artist hear what's coming out of the mixing desk rather than what's echoing across the stage. Equipment has to be sturdy to cope with a life on the road and Shure has a reputation for robust kit with quality sound for the professional musician who can afford to pay. Shure's reputation has carried over to their range of headphones designed for those of us listening to music someone else has recorded; being well built and at the high end of the price list.
The E500s are definitely for listening to music rather than monitoring it. They're sound-isolating earphones with triple drivers and a Push To Hear attachment that means you don't need to take the earphones out. The extra features do show up on the price tag, so we're comparing the new models to the already-excellent E3cs to see which Shure you want in your ears.
